Wherefore leaving the doctrine of the first principles of Christ, let us press on unto perfection; not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,of the teaching of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit. (Hebrews 6:1-3 (ASV))
There must be some sort of foundation, this is seen in the above scripture. These foundations can also be called the first principles.
Why do we need foundations?
The image above shows a foundation of a new building… A building without a foundation has little chance to stand long, this is because a strong foundation in a building reinforces the strength of the building itself… Let’s think of it this way: Would I sink faster in mud or rock? I believe I will sink a bit faster in mud that in rock. This is because rock is much more stable than mud and thus rock also has a greater potential in sustaining a larger weight that mud would..
The image below shows the root system of an tree. The root system of the tree is fairly in and this creates a strong foundation. As a result of the root system of the tree, the chances of the tree to be uprooted is highly unlikely.

Now if trees, a God created thing, and buildings, which many people build, need foundations, why do we not need is?
This reminds me:
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” (Matthew 7:24-27)
Now you would most likely say that this speaks about listening to God… Which is true….
But the concept is the same…
A man whom is built a strong foundation, would not likely be tossed around by the believes of those around him.

What I am planning:
I would like to post about the following topic, because this is mentioned to be foundational to our walk with Christ.
1. Repentance from dead works
2. Faith toward God
3. Teaching of baptisms
4. Laying on of hands
5. Resurrection of the dead
6. Eternal judgment
Also I will look into the daily life of a Christian, what it means to be a Christian and if everything we hear in church is a must or should we hide from what it said.
Some would be:
1. Should we pray
2. Should we read Bible
3. Should we evangelize
Also there are signs that should follow believers which I believe I should also look at.
I am looking forward to digging into these concepts and also seeing what easy ways there are to doing some it.
Remember Christianity in not a religion… IT IS A RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST
If you have any foundations that you have read about in the Bible, you are more than welcome to contact me. I would love to hear from you, and this will also help me know where I should focus.
God Bless
